leo and bryan
History:

in 1921,michael f. successfully demonstrated in his experiment motor was made of a free hanging wire that was plunged into a pool of mercury .A permanent magnet was placed in the centre of the mercury pool.

Ten years later,it was joseph Henry who built an improved motor based up on faraday's experimentol motor. He constructed a device whose rotating part was on electromagnet witha horizontal axis. The motion resulted in two vertical permanet magnets, alternately attracted and repelled at end of the electromagnet

Advantages and disadvantages:

Some advantages to motors are:
Low initial cost
long life
Low maintenance
High efficiency
Automated control
No fossil fuels
Labor cost savings
Occupational safety

Some disadvantages are:
Portability
Demand charges
Remote locations
Speed control

Uses for motors:
Motors have a wide variety of uses, and are commonly found in everyday objects such as cars, clocks, fridges, fans, vacuums, etc.
